The angle of the light during fall is always so mesmerizing. When of the Full Moon phase brought some extra brightness and left me sleepless, I ventured out for a walk for the show. That was until the creepy coyotes had me running back inside. Safe, sound, and still sleepless, I grabbed my iPad and ended up sketching this piece with 4 moons moving across the canvas. The abstract fennel flower, drawn with sgraffito which is a process of removing paint to reveal what is underneath, represents how fleeting this time of year can be. The earthy reds, oranges, cinnamon, and saffron contrast with the icy sky-blue, making for a truly stunning piece. And the typography spelling out "I O U" is my way of expressing gratitude for the season. This one's a must-have for any art collector with a love for all things autumnal.
