Bio

My journey into art has been shaped by a winding path. I studied photography and printmaking at Savannah College of Art and Design before launching a successful two-decade career as a Creative Director and Product Design Strategist in Los Angeles.

My career has always balanced design with my passion for painting. Now based in the NYC suburbs, I’m a full-time artist, focused on developing my unique voice as an artist, merging abstract expressionism with mixed media collage. I continue to push creative boundaries and embracing each new challenge with the same drive and curiosity that has always fueled my work.

Statement

For me, art is about creating a connection—turning nothing into something vibrant and expressive. My work explores two distinct styles: one intuitive and experimental, embodying freedom and honesty, and the other thoughtfully designed and planned, driven by logic and concept. This push-and-pull dynamic shapes my creative process, producing pieces that reflect life’s contrasts while inviting connection and curiosity.

The Colorpop collection is my most intuitive work—playful, whimsical and rooted in subconscious symbolism. These pieces begin with spontaneous mark-making, where lines, symbols, patterns and shapes emerge instinctively. I work with a limited palette that centers on one or two dominant colors, blending bits of each into every color to a sense of cohesion and harmony. Recurring icons often surface, adding a hint of narrative that reflects memories, moods, or moments that rise unconsciously during the process. Each piece becomes an exploration of form, rhythm, and layered meaning.

The Colorblock Collection, on the other hand, leans into my design background. It begins with painted collage papers, sometimes digitally arranged or pinned directly onto the canvas. These compositions are more structured, often featuring grid-like layouts, bold textures, and typographic elements. They're layered, maximal pieces with graphic punch.

Recent highlights include a solo show, a juried group exhibition where I received Honorable Mention from the curator of the Camp Gallery in Miami, and being featured in Vogue. I’ve collaborated with Anthropologie and was recently shortlisted for the 2024 Contemporary Collage Magazine Awards. Currently, I’m searching for a larger studio to accommodate my growing practice and continue expanding my creative output through exhibitions, collaborations, and workshops.
