Versa III
When do commissions, I often paint two or three canvases side by side to get everything just right, from the color to the gestures to the composition. Versa II was a commission that now lives in a private collection in Zurich, perfectly paired alongside "Curveball." While I painted its sibling, Versa III, I kept drifting back to a long lunch when I was nineteen: a retired photographer who'd taken an interest in my work, a very grown-up dining room, and a little glass of Chartreuse… I only had it that one time, but the color never left me.
30 × 30 × 1.5 inches (76.2 × 76.2 × 3.8 cm)
Acrylic, ink and laser transfer on canvas with painted edges
Unframed (enquire for framing requests)
